Cape Town, South Africa, 27January 2026 — Global sports company PUMA and Manchester City have today unveiled the Year of the Horse Capsule Collection, featuring a limited-edition pre-match jersey that fuses football culture with heritage-inspired design. Marking the Year of the Fire Horse, the collection celebrates motion, energy, and tradition through a refined, contemporary lens.
Influenced by traditional Chinese ink and watercolour techniques, the sketched horse motifs bring depth and fluidity to the design, creating a piece that feels alive and expressive. It’s heritage with horsepower – crafted for matchdays and all the days in between. The collection also features a PUMA KING Anthem Jacket with a bespoke font, along with a leisurewear tee and cap.
The Year of the Horse Capsule Collection reflects Manchester City’s global identity and PUMA’s commitment to storytelling through design, blending cultural symbolism with modern football aesthetics. The result is a jersey and accompanying pieces that transcend the pitch, speaking to fans and Cityzens around the world.
Marco Mueller, Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel at PUMA, said: “The Year of the Horse Capsule Collection is about capturing energy, motion, and heritage through design. The Fire Horse artwork represents power and momentum – qualities that define Manchester City both on and off the pitch. This collection allows us to celebrate cultural storytelling while continuing to push football aesthetics forward in a way that feels modern, meaningful, and authentic.”
David Tang, Chief Executive Officer for China at City Football Group, said: “We are excited to launch this capsule collection with PUMA today as we look to celebrate the Year of the Horse with our fans around the world. In recent years, our collections have been hugely successful, and we hope our fans enjoy the exciting designs and products on offer.”
The Year of the Horse pre-match jersey is engineered for comfort and everyday wear, incorporating PUMA’s dryCELL sweat-wicking technology to help keep fans dry and comfortable. In line with PUMA’s sustainability commitments, the jersey is made using the RE:FIBRE initiative, containing at least 95% recycled textile waste and other used polyester materials — supporting a more circular production process without compromising performance or quality.
The Manchester City Year of the Horse Capsule Collection is available from 6 February 2026 at PUMA.com, Totalsports, JD Sports and Studio 88. The jersey will be worn pre-match on 1 February when Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur.
