Cape Town, 17 July 2026 – Springbok loosehead prop Boan Venter has signed withPUMA South Africa and will play in the brands Avant Pro II technical rugby boot developed for tight five players.
Venter, who has been named in the South Africa Nations Championship squad for matches against England, Scotland and Wales in July, joins fellow Springboks including Canan Moodie and Elrigh Louw in the PUMA rugby family.
Venter, 29, is a late bloomer who only made his Bok debut a year ago but has already racked up a career-worth of Springbok highlights including a test try, as well as wins against France in Paris, and Ireland in Dublin.
Kimberley-born Venter has returned to South Africa and will play for the Lions having spent previous seasons in Scotland, playing for Edinburgh where he earned over 100 caps. Known for his ability as a ballcarrier as much as his strength in the set-pieces, Venter also has an eye for a try – he was the first Edinburgh prop to score a hattrick of tries in a single game and scored on his Springbok debut.

- The boot’s forefoot armour consists of a padded structural cage created by moulded synthetic leather that fuses with the lining for enhanced comfort and protection.
- The toe box volume has increased.
- The improved heel lockdown is thanks to a substantial heel construction with a fully moulded heel piece connected to the lacing to create a fastening system. The heel is softer with more cushioning, and Armo Yarns technology is used for a durable ankle fit.
